When a customer begins making a booking in your online booking system, their booking is placed in a reserved state. This allows the system to hold the time slot while the customer completes the booking process. Here’s how it appears on your Admin Calendar and what you need to know about managing these bookings:
1. How 'User Submitting' Bookings Appear on the Admin Calendar
- Bookings that are in the process of being submitted by a customer are shown with cross-hatching on the Admin Calendar.
- The cross-hatching indicates that a customer is currently filling in their booking details but has not yet completed the booking.
- If you click on one of these bookings, the popup will display the booking's status as "User submitting". This status highlights that the booking is still being processed by the customer.
2. What You Can and Cannot Do
While a booking is in the "User submitting" state, it’s visible on your calendar for transparency, but certain actions are restricted:
- No actions allowed: You won’t be able to cancel, reschedule, or make any other changes to the booking while it's in this state. Since the customer is still working through the booking, it wouldn’t make sense to manage or modify it until they’ve finished.
3. What Happens Next?
- If the customer completes the booking: Once the booking process is finished, the booking will be fully confirmed and can then be managed just like any other booking. You'll be able to cancel, reschedule, or take other actions as needed.
- If the customer doesn’t complete the booking: The booking will expire automatically, and it will disappear from the Admin Calendar. This prevents incomplete bookings from cluttering your calendar and frees up the slot automatically for other customers to book.
By providing visibility into bookings in progress, your Admin Calendar helps you stay informed about potential bookings without requiring any intervention until the customer completes their booking.
