How do I manage bookings, staff and resources across multiple time zones?

If your business operates across multiple time zones, Jezzam's comprehensive time zone support makes it easy for you to schedule your staff and resources in those different time zones.


It all starts with your Locations


Locations are key to time zone support in Jezzam. When you create a Location you are able to set the time zone for the Location. This step is extremely important for time zone support.


When you subsequently assign a Staff Member or Resource to a Location, any schedule you create for the Staff Member or Resource will automatically be in the time zone of the Locations. This keeps managing time zones in Jezzam very simple. 


For example, if you have a Location in New York, you set the location's time zone to New York (GMT -05:00) America/New_York) and then all the Staff you create who work out of that Location will have schedules that operate in New York time. Simple!


How to assign a time zone to a Location


This is very straightforward and is done when first creating the Location:

  1. Log in to your Admin Panel
  2. Go to Settings > Locations
  3. Click the "New" button
  4. On the "Details" tab, in the "Time Zone" section, select the appropriate time zone for the location
  5. Complete the rest of the section to create the Location.


And that's it! From this point forward all schedules created for any Staff or Resources assigned to the Location will operated in the Location's time zone.


IMPORTANT: It is possible to change the time zone of a Location after creation.  But this should be done with caution. Changing the time zone of a location will very likely affect the availability schedules for the Location and the availability of any staff or resources at the location.  Therefore, if you decide to change the time zone of a Location you should carefully review and adjust all related schedules to align with the new time zone.


How to edit a Staff or Resources schedule in their local time zone


As above, the schedule of a Staff Member or Resource is automatically assigned to the time zone of the Location they are located at. So in fact, when you manage their schedule it is automatically in the correct time zone.  You simply manage their schedule normally and Jezzam take's care of any time zone conversions and booking conflict management for you - saving you enormous amounts of time.


TIP: When attempting to edit Advanced or Per-service schedules, if your display time zone is different to the time zone of the schedule, editing will be disabled.  If this is the case, you will see an "Edit schedule" link.  Simply click this link and Jezzam will automatically switch your display time zone to be the same time zone as the schedule and enable editing.  Jezzam's comprehensive time zone management gives you the option to review schedules in different time zones but this feature ensures that editing of schedules is carried out in the correct local time zone to assist you with your scheduling tasks.
