How to set the Advanced Booking Period and Booking Lead Time for a Service

Modified on Tue, 22 Mar, 2022 at 2:15 PM

You can set the amount of time your customers can book in advance (the "Advanced Booking Period") and the amount of time they need to book before the start of the booking (the "Booking Lead Time").  This can be done for each of your Services.

For example,  you may have a Service which customers can book up to 3 months in advance (an Advanced Booking Period of 3 months) but which they must book at least 7 days in advance of the start of the booking (a Booking Lead Time of 7 days).

You may have a different Service which can only be booked 1 month in advance (an Advanced Booking Period of 1 month) but which must be booked at least 1 day in advance of the start of the booking (a Booking Lead Time of 1 day).

Together the Advanced Booking Period and Booking Lead Time rules make up the "Booking window" for the Service. That is, the period of time in which a booking can be made for that Service.

Booking rules only apply to online bookings made by your customers.  They do not apply to bookings made in the Admin Calendar.

Jezzam allows you to set booking rules for specific Services as follows:

  1. Log in to your Admin Panel
  2. Firstly you need to activate this feature by going to Settings > Booking rules
  3. Scroll down to the "Activate specific online booking rules feature" section
  4. To activate, make sure "Activate Service specific online booking rules" is set to "Yes"
  5. Click "Save"

Activating this feature means that a new tab - "Booking Rules" - will appear when editing a service.

To add a Service specific booking rule to a Service:

  6. Go to Settings > Services
  7. Select the Service
  8. Select the "Booking Rules" tab
  9. Set "Use specific booking rules for this Service?" to "Yes"
  10. Then set the Advanced Booking Period and Booking Lead Time as required
  11. Click "Save"

NOTE: The Booking Rules tab is available after a Service has been created.

If you use Jezzam's membership feature, you can set different booking rules for Member bookings and Public bookings.

When you set booking rules on a Service, these will override your account level booking rules.  Services which do not use service specific booking rules will use your account level rules.
